This site is the online representation of a family run restaurant & pizzeria (Marco Pollo Pizzéria). They have a pretty good thick pizza and a big variety other food (mainly Hungarian cuisine). You can order by phone only and it is a delivery only business as of today.
Contribution: Desing, implementation & maintenance
2007: I have been asked to put the menu (which was a Word document) on the Internet. That was all the requirements. I did not overcomplicated it: created an account at a free hosting provider, saved the Word document as HTML and uploaded it. Job done.
2009: I managed to convince the founder of the restaurant to register a proper domain name. I thought that the site would deserve a bit more attention, so I have spent a few hours learning RVSiteBuilder and created a better one. Over the next few years customers started to use it. I know even though I haven’t look at site statistics, but they started to complain if something was incorrect or missing on the site. The business also got expanded with lunch set menus and weekly offers.
2011: Facebook page created for the restaurant.
2013: As the number of site users grew over the years the pressure increased to create a kind of news feed where customers can find weekly offers and lunch set menus (which is also changing on a weekly basis). I was looking for some solution which would save me time and effort keeping the site up to date. So I did some research and completely redesigned and re-implemented the site using WordPress. As part of this a Twitter account has launched with the new site which now used Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand behaviour of the users.
2015: Handed over the future development and maintenance of the site to the restaurant owner.
